Very nice finish and appears to be of good quality.

Very good quality and finish and the extra screens are appreciated, I particularly like that the edges of the screens are folded back so the screens don't wear out and the screens last longer, they seem to scratch well and still, when pushed to the ground. Metal on metal is an unpleasant noise and this noise is kept to a minimum with this press. The only caveat is that they don't appear to be truly vacuum sealed as the outside heats up fairly quickly, a true vacuum sealed jar retains the heat…

This could be the last french press you will ever buy!

A few years ago my husband and I switched to a French Press for the flavor and texture. We broke two glass carafes and the last press we had was weak and the screen kept popping up. It was an investment for us and I was nervous about using a stainless steel press. I was concerned about the taste and didn't know how I would feel if the screens scratched the sides of the carafe. An excellent device from the first use. It's strong, tastes no different than other pressed drinks we've used, and the…

Perfect before it breaks

I bought this French Press just over a year ago and I use it every day. I broke our 2 previous glasses and decided it was time to break this cycle. This one was perfect - makes more coffee than a typical French press, it's all metal so no plastic chemicals get into my morning drink, and it's beautiful to look at. It's also easy to clean and appears to be very durable. I only have 2 complaints: 1) It doesn't keep the coffee warm for very long - I wouldn't count on it being a durable carafe. 2) A

***Updated Rating*** Beware of defective parts.

Shortly after I wrote this review, Secura support contacted me and offered to replace my broken French Press. I didn't expect a replacement and was surprised and very happy with their prompt customer service. Their customer service and willingness to replace the product made up for the faulty part. As for the product itself. We like it very much and it keeps our coffee warm for a long time. Thank you Secura for the replacement French press, much appreciated. I purchased this French Press on…

Great value, makes great coffee

5 stars for overall value. The entire coffee press is made of stainless steel and is well made, not perfect but very good. The handle weld finish is a bit dull, that's the only thing that could be improved. Some reviewers wondered if having the stainless steel filter screen in direct contact with the inside of the press was a good idea, since it rubs steel on steel. The more expensive brand, Bodum, uses a plastic ring around the plunger, but I find that the Secura press's plunger is easier to…

You should probably buy this

This is a GOOD french press. Attractive polished stainless steel and a 50 oz capacity (that's 10 x 5 oz mugs in the world of Lilliputian coffee makers). I've made several pots and they have been delicious. Very little left. if you use a coarse grind. Stainless steel is high quality and keeps the coffee warm longer than glass. Some people think that coffee left in a French Press will become more bitter over time because it contains ground coffee, but I haven't encountered a problem with this…

Very good but not great

Very nice with a few small imperfections (I think). Immaculate stainless steel inside and out. Two additional screens are available. I preheated a pot of hot tap water, then poured it out, immediately ground my coffee (of course. and nothing notable entered our cups through a strainer. The instructions suggest doubling the strainers if you like. Perhaps useful for finer ground coffee ) and then poured into my freshly boiled water. The first thing to choose. The bottom of the lid has a sloping…

The saga of finding the perfect coffee maker. . .

I've been using my new coffee machines for a few weeks and I'm very happy with them. Mm, nothing beats a good cup of coffee. My 8 year old Cuisinart automatic drip coffee maker with thermograph broke down so I started looking for automatic drip coffee makers. My old machine was a Cuisinart with a built in grinder, but I gave up grinding beans with the machine after a few months because for some reason I found the brewed coffee was filling up the entire shelf and cabinets. and the floor, and I…
