This Stanley Bit hand drill failed on first use. I received it about three weeks before I started using it. I was doing about 10-12 turns of the drill bit when the hand ball came loose from the drill press handle and the bearing fell out and the ball was in my hand. This drill is not designed to be repaired. Clamp "C" that holds the ball to the shaft is sealed in the ball and cannot be reinstalled. Clamp "C" is in the palm of your hand and rattles. A little background on why I use these braces and bits. I live on a farm and sometimes a hand drill works better than an 18 volt electric hand drill when fastening fence posts. 18 volt drills just don't have the torque needed to get the job done. The orthosis and attachment that I have used for over fifty years disappeared one day which is why I bought this inferior Stanley product. I do not recommend buying Stanley products. Unless Stanley can build a simple hand drill that won't fall apart the first time it's used and can't be repaired, it won't earn any future income from you or yours. Something that wasn't a production with built-in failure.
