I'm not a mechanic. . ...although I'm pretty good with tools I wasn't sure if I could replace this part on my Toyota Prius but I did or I paid $600 to the dealer (that's the price they quoted me have... seriously). So, for $10 and maybe an hour of my time, heaps of elbow grease and Goo Gone and YouTube video tutorials. . .I did it! And it's life changing. I had this annoying problem a few years ago and used duct tape to fix it, but the sensor was so clogged I was having trouble opening the trunk. And that's where this kit came in! I didn't need a new sensor (which I was afraid of). . It was only necessary to remove this dirt and replace part of the handle. And to be honest it was so easy, I don't know why I didn't try it sooner. Definitely worth every penny I paid.
