Very satisfied so far. I use this to control the temperature of my pool. I installed it in a small project box and tried to make it waterproof by sealing the plastic shade with silicone caulk. I also sealed the device in a box for the project. At first I used a 9 volt battery, but after a few days it was already dead. It's my own fault and I didn't think of a 9v mAh battery (the device draws about 35mA). Would suggest some sort of power supply or rechargeable battery/solar system as someone else has suggested. I had an old 12V 500mA power supply ("wall wart") laying around so it plugged into the power cords and it worked fine. I'm not sure if this is due to a dead battery (although I can't figure out how), but as soon as I turned the device back on, I kept reading "OL". This usually indicates that the sensor is not connected, but it is not. I ended up with a sensor from an older temp gauge (and another brand), and as soon as I plugged that sensor in, it worked again. Despite the claim that the probe is waterproof, I'm not sure. The old probe sat in my pool for 3 years and still works great. Apparently he died a few days later. As many have mentioned, there is no manual or instructions. However, I found them on the internet. Go to the Parts Express website and search for "320-506". There is a link to the manual on the product page.
