Comparison of socks with medical compression stockings

I have varicose veins; severe swelling of the legs, feet and ankles; and recently completed vein treatment. I was looking for good open toe compression stockings. For comparison, I tried a pair of Truform 30-40 mmHg open-toe compression stockings. and a pair of Doc Miller open toe compression socks 30-40mmHg. Both brands of socks offered good compression. Truform socks have been found to be slightly more compressed; However, these socks have pronounced seams on the foot and leg. While the seam on the foot did not cause any problems, the seam on the foot caused pain in the foot when the seam was not positioned correctly in my shoes. Doc Miller's socks had smoother seams and were more comfortable to wear.
