Review on Enhance Brake Performance with Kool Stop Koolstop MTB Disc Brake Pads by Ben Balas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

SILENT way. - Sport

I replaced the rear brake pad on my new 2012 Specialized Stumpjumper Carbon Comp HT 29er. The factory disc brake pads were good for a few trail rides but wore out unusually quickly. Genuine Avid brake pads squeak when dirt and moisture get into the disc brake. The noise was annoying every time you applied the rear brake to slow the bike. I've tried several YouTube recommendations to stop the beeping but to no avail. Decided to replace the Kool Stop brand brake pads. I had a metal base instead of aluminum. I didn't notice a big difference in weight. My first impression from the first ride was SILENCE. . . . . . . . Braking performance was better in wet and dry conditions. Brake modulation was better for slowing down momentum. Well folks or bikers, make sure your bike brake is in good condition. A good and reliable brake pad like KOOL Stop will prevent you from hitting trees on the road. Have fun driving.
