I bought several of these when I was moving from an apartment to a house. They seem pretty reliable. The temperature is easy to take and all my thermometers seem to agree with each other. In terms of humidity, these La Crosse hygrometers show a more extreme "range" than my Oregon Scientific instrument. For example, if it's very humid outside and the air conditioner hasn't been on for half an hour, they'll read 58%, while an Oregon Scientific instrument I've used for many years reads 51%. When dry they will show 23% while another device will show 26-27%. I'm not sure which is more precise, but the behavior seems pretty consistent. I like that it's adjustable: you can set the temperature or humidity readings to a "big" number in the middle. I'm more concerned about humidity, so I usually set it that way. In the four months I've been using it, the clock has slipped a few minutes. That is not important; I don't use it often as a watch. But I have one in the bathroom and I have to remind myself that it's not necessarily accurate.
