In general the thermometer is good and works well, especially for such a price. One thing I am very disappointed in is that I bought this on purpose after asking if it was open 24 hours and was told yes. Also directly on the packaging the time is 12/24 hours. Arrived defective. It arrived with an old battery, so some of the features just didn't make sense at first. The instructions say to replace the battery with a new one in this case, which is what I did. Unfortunately, some of the components that make up the clock numbers, the entire bottom half of the numbers, as well as some of the top segments, don't turn black. I don't like the display as much as the digital background of numbers that shouldn't be shown is always dark, making it difficult to see the digital numbers that should be shown (if you get what I mean). The ad is consequently distracting and unclear to read. Temperature in large numbers and humidity and time in much smaller numbers. I wish it was different. I bought several of these when I was moving from an apartment to a house. They seem pretty reliable. The temperature is easy to take and all my thermometers seem to agree with each other. In terms of humidity, these La Crosse hygrometers show a more extreme "range" than my Oregon Scientific instrument. For example, if it's very humid outside and the air conditioner hasn't been on for half an hour, they'll read 58%, while an Oregon Scientific instrument I've used for many years reads 51%. When…

Sporadic after 2 weeks (continue to switch display to high print temperature), then completely dead after 60 days. I bought new batteries but that didn't help. La Crosse has carefully chosen not to include contact information in the warranty description and it can be surmised that they minimize their liability by insisting that the defective item be sent to a La Crosse facility at the buyer's expense. In short, given the cost of this item, there's little choice but to write it off as a bad buy.

I bought a La Crosse Technology indoor digital thermometer and hygrometer, an Acu-Rite indoor humidity monitor, and a 9.125 inch Springfield vertical hygrometer. They are all standing together on my table at this point. La Crosse reads 76.3 F, Acu-Rite reads 77 F, Springfield just over 76 F.
