Here's what you should know

Expect disappointment at first. You're pretty much alone trying to figure out how it works. Also, DO NOT connect it to your TV until you try it for the first time while looking at the screen. If the screen turns off, it's because the TV is plugged into the back. (It took me a while to figure this out!) Second, it's in negative mode by default. If you want to create slides you need to go to Menu/Film Type/Slides and select a setting and then click OK. It must be in capture mode to scan. Then click OK. This turns on the screen so the slide can be scanned/captured. Once there, press SCAN and OK and it will capture. Once you've created about a dozen (up to about 35), you'll want to transfer them to your computer. (I scan one small box at a time). Then, to transfer it to your computer, you need to put it in USB mode and click OK. I'm on a Mac, so I opened "Photos" and it shows as an "Untitled" device. Then you import. Then you have to change the color/contrast/etc. to adjust. You CAN AND SHOULD make some light and dark adjustments (when in capture mode press the OK button and 4 settings will appear (light/dark, red, green, blue)) rather than sticking with one setting , some photos may be too dark and some too bright/overexposed. On some I took two shots just to make sure I got it right. If you want to get good results, you need to learn how to use the editing software in the Photos app on your computer. Using RGB on the scanner is not a good idea as you won't be able to see any detail on the screen. And understand that these are slides, they're not going to be super cool. Especially when they are old. You have to adjust light/darkness, color saturation, etc. to get what you want. It might be a good idea to blow out/wipe each bar. And it works for metal shrouded valves BUT ONLY if you remove the door from the valve tool, attach the metal fastener to the hole and slide in, grab and pull back out. how he looked. You cannot feed them from right to left like cardboard sliders, which makes working with metal sliders tedious. All in all, now that I know how this guide works, it's a great way to preserve and share memories locked in slides that have been sitting in a closet for 50 years! He loses a star due to the complete lack of direction from the company. Also note that it crashed several times. Just unplug it from the back and plug back in/restart. AND A VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE! In RESOLUTION it has a setting of 14M and 22M AND IF YOU TURN IT OFF it returns to 14. SO YOU HAVE TO RESET IT EVERY TIME! (Pyle should fix this, because if it can keep a non-negative slide setting, it can keep the 22M setting, but currently it can't.)

Pros
  • IMPROVED IMAGE QUALITY: The slide scanner has an integrated image interpolation that can improve the image quality up to 22 megapixels. Auto exposure and color balance are also included
Cons
  • Big and bulky
