UPDATE: I can definitely see a parrot getting stuck upside down between the curved plastic rod and the holder. Today the holder was empty, but there was still some water at the bottom. I watched one of my birds lean over to get to the water and knew immediately that if it lost its balance it would get stuck upside down like the other reviewer did. Definitely get rid of that crooked perch, they don't need it. Set the device up next to one of their regular cage bars and they'll be fine. This is a design flaw, the gap is too large, almost the perfect size of a parrot for disaster to occur. I still love it for greens and treats but without the perch. First review: I bought it for its intended purpose, but when I received it I immediately saw that it would contain the greenery that my birds love. I fold a large chard, cabbage, beetroot or romaine leaf in half, fill it with water and rinse thoroughly, put it in the holder and the birds love it. Greens don't fall to the ground and don't get dirty. I didn't give it five stars because part of the pole was broken when I got it, but luckily I managed to glue it nice and tight with the E-6000. One person complained that the pole was slippery for his birds. It can be wrapped with cotton kitchen twine or garden twine for little feet to hold on to. It can also be removed. I have a holder next to one of their perches so they just sit and bend down to eat their salad. I think the best part is that it keeps the food against the wall of the cage and prevents it from falling to the floor and getting dirty. The Revain came with a bunch of stuff scattered around the box so the holder had a broken rod on one side but as I said I was able to fix it easily with glue and it's probably stronger for that anyway. Finally, a person with this mount had an accident in their birdcage. The perch can be removed entirely if you are concerned.
