Review on Saris Solo Trunk Mounted Black by Quartreal Eagleman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Installed on a car with no problems

I wasn't particularly impressed with the quality until my father-in-law arrived and was very impressed. This is my first time buying one of these so I didn't think it seemed that durable as I thought my bike would move while riding, but it turns out I didn't protect it well would have. There's definitely something to learn here, but once you figure out that you have to rotate the pedal so you can get the bike close enough to tighten the belt, it's tight enough. I've also found that you can push your bike until it finds a natural resting point where the weight settles. Once you spot this, you can secure it just enough so it doesn't move while you drive. I have this on my Prius V wagon but it didn't fit my husband's Honda. I'm giving 4 stars because I feel it should have two straps, one on each side, not just one. Someone else mentioned that a bungee cord can be used to solve this problem. Overall not bad for the price but I only ride 2 miles to and from the bike path so can't speak to its performance on a long ride or when going over 35mph.
