You insert each 3 foot gutter protector under the shingles and then attach it to the gutter. Really easy! I like how they overlap about 1cm at each end so one of them doesn't come loose, but I'm flexible enough that you can remove one if needed. I used gutter shears to cut off the excess length at the last end of the gutter. I just hope they are corrosion resistant, although they are listed with a protective coating for long life. That's my only concern. We must wait a winter when it will be covered with snow and ice for several months, and then examine it for corrosion in the spring. Update 4/20/2020: Coverage is still great! No corrosion. Also my neighbor had just removed his giant tree because of all the problems he was having. I'll never have leaves on my roof, but I'll still keep the drains flowing.
