I needed something for my new 3950x but my case doesn't fit water coolers. Tried air cooling for the first time in 15 years and was not disappointed. During games I stay in the high 40s, low 50s. The highest level I've seen is in the mid 70's. Right now I'm watching YouTube while installing 2 virtual machines and I'm at 58 degrees. Of course, a good water cooler will do the job better, but if you don't have a heatsink in your case and want something nice looking, this cooler will work even on a high-end CPU. The only thing I didn't like was the attachment mechanism, the mount dangles and moves. I thought I had a bad one, but turns out it's designed that way and contracts when you install the cooler. Very strange design but I think it works.
