Review on AVerMedia Technologies Live Gamer Portable 2 PLUS black/red by Wiktor Sabak ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Quite good, but I expected more from it.

The contraption costs 15,000. Cheap pleasure. At the same time, the manufacturer does not indicate one of the most important parameters of the device. Does a great job with streaming. Recording is mediocre. In general, the device was dissatisfied. It just suits me. As soon as possible, I will switch to another, and henceforth I will treat the Avermedia brand with caution. I am very glad that I did not immediately buy a set with a microphone and a camera.

Pros
  • Easy to connect - in fact, the device does not require any configuration and is immediately detected by the required software.
Cons
  • Absolutely nowhere, that is, ANYWHERE AT ALL, is it said that the device does not transmit HDR and / or UHD colors. Before buying this capture card, I looked at a bunch of reviews and reviews and no one pointed out this, I would say, defining flaw. On the manufacturer's website, this is also NOT SAID ANYWHERE. Everywhere and everyone emphasizes that with a capture card, you can continue to watch / play with a picture in 4K. Not a word about HDR. What 4K TV doesn't support HDR these days? When I connected the card to the console and my TV, I was terribly upset that I would have to play and record without an extended color range. The whole point of 4K gaming without HDR, I think, is lost, because thanks to the soft color transitions and midtones, many of the shortcomings of the picture from the console are hidden - including useless anti-aliasing. In addition, through OBS, this card writes a torn picture. There is a loss of frames and friezes. Through my software, everything is fine.
