I bought this to replace a faulty float switch that is in the bilge on my 17ft boat. Good: It's the same switch that failed, so I don't have to drill new mounting holes. The bad: It's the same switch that failed, which doesn't bode well for its predicted longevity - the original was only five years old. Keep your fingers crossed. By the way, getting a call from the harbor master that your boat is sinking is pretty exciting!
