Review on πŸͺ‘ GCI Outdoor SitBacker Canoe Seat with Adjustable Back Support by Trevor Bannister

Revainrating 4 out of 5

nope no Cheap

This seat was not strong or comfortable enough for my canoe trip. First the good: It wasn't insanely expensive and gave temporary relief from back pain during 3-4 hour sessions. Velcro for portage lock did the job. And I'll admit that a smaller person (my 6ft 175lbs) might have a better experience. Now for the bad: The single adjustable strap never stayed tight and gradually loosened over time, so I kept tightening it. It also never mated very well with the pre-curved seats on the Old Town Guide canoe we used, so I also adjusted it from side to side during breaks without it sitting in the middle and staying there. "Ideal for molded seats" = no. Most importantly, after 3 days of canoeing, the seat is quite *crumbled*. He kept rubbing at the stern of the canoe, tearing the fabric there. And the stitching down the center of the seat was ridiculously flimsy and the floor was half ripped off by the end of the ride. I can't say how it compares to the other seats (maybe they're all horrible and cheaply built), but I can say I'll never buy this again. I recommend anyone looking for a seat that lasts more than 3 days of canoeing to find something better.
