The path is oversized! in dowel

I needed 3/8 inch dowel pins and the first 10 dowel pins I measured were .020 or more over 3/8 inch. The entire tapered end will not fit in a 3/8" hole. Bought replacements from Milescraft and they have plenty of room for glue.
