Review on πŸ”ͺ Tormek Rotational Sharpening Systems: Optimal Sharpener for Precision Sharpening by Tyrone Carter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I thought about getting a good turning insert and installing it made of wood

I won't lie, I found it too expensive. I considered getting a good insert and installing it out of wood, but this was much better. My swivel plate would work, yes, but it clearly comes with benefits. The best part is that it locks every 180 degrees of rotation. Don't worry about it moving when you use it. There are also legs that tend the water towards the trough. It's also nice that it's made of plastic (I think it's as good as aluminum) so spilled water can't damage it. Very high quality plastic, I hope it will last a lifetime. Spins very smoothly. If this is going to be your first Tormek purchase, no, but if you're serious about it (spending $700 on a sharpener, for example, isn't enough), buy this.

Pros
  • The low design does not significantly affect the working height of the sharpener
Cons
  • So far so good
