Review on Yokohama Geolandar I/T-S G073 215/65 R16 98Q winter by Stanislaw Kobylka (S ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good value for money, I recommend.

Toyota Prado car. Size 275*65*R17. Bought a new set at the beginning of the season. Hong Konganent four-wheel drive, with locking center differential. Before that there were Hakki 7, never blocked anything. But for the sake of economy, I decided to try Velcro. I am writing from Siberia, the winter was cold, with drops at the beginning and snowy in the middle, so there was a lot of snow, there was also enough ice under the snow. The feel of the rubber is different. On the one hand, for brushed asphalt - quite what you need. No problem. On the other hand, in the yards, if there are many different slides, like ours, and even knurled ones, it slides and wags to the sides. If you need to save money, you can take it. I took 5,600 wheels, and for this money it's quite a decent rubber. Haka the fifth cost at that time 11,000. I don't think there is a double difference. But if you live, say, in a village where there is a lot of snow rolled under a slope, and temperatures drop below - 35 - take spikes. It will be much easier in winter. Returning back to the past, I think I would not have taken this rubber, I would have preferred something studded. But, again, there are no disappointments. Good tires for 4, if only there weren’t so many frosts and ice, in general there would be a five.

Pros
  • - quiet - slows down well on ice (accelerates and holds the road noticeably worse). - any snow at all. - I looked up to -40 - it does not dull, it remains soft as it should. At the same time, the characteristics in such a frost do not change much (I compare it with Korean rubber). - democratic price in comparison with Nokian and Kontikami.
Cons
  • The main problem is related to ice. If braking can still be called acceptable, then acceleration and handling are below average. This is especially true for temperatures over -25, when snow is rolled down to the state of oak ice in the yards. The car is heavy, the rubber does not cope very well. But if you don't drive, you can drive.
