Great solution, potentially saving me many thousands of dollars

I just bought an apartment which I really like because of the south facing windows and two sliding doors that lead to a huge balcony. What I didn't like is that on my 3rd day there I was woken up by the wind howling through the vertical cracks in those patio doors and it wasn't even that windy outside. I was devastated. I figured I'd have to spend $14,000 right at the gate to replace the old windows and doors (that was the estimate my savvy neighbor gave me). I spent hours at local hardware stores looking through all the types of seals they had. I bought a few of these, brought them home and tried to see if there was a way I could tailor them to my specific needs. nope Well I could, but that would require drilling through the metal frame and screwing in some gaskets, which I was hoping to avoid. Then I jumped onto Amazon and within minutes I found exactly what I needed: this stuff. I needed something to fill in the vertical gaps between the sliding doors and windows when they were closed. So true. I was afraid it would be too weak but I haven't heard or felt any wind at all since I posted this over 2 months ago and there have been some very windy periods since then. From an aesthetic standpoint, most people wouldn't even notice it's there. I think it would help if two people installed it, one to hold the strip and the other to stick it on. I did it myself and it was ok, but getting the strip to line up exactly how I wanted it was a little harder than I thought it would be. The app is just a bit bumpy and if someone could help me it could be neater and maybe fill gaps in coverage. But it works great, and like I said, I don't think anyone will notice it's there unless I point it out. So if you're picky like me you might need someone to help you with the installation to make it easier to line it up perfectly, but it's probably not necessary. And that can save you from gaps that let the wind through. I've had it for about 2.5 months now and it seems to be holding up great. For that price I could change it several times a year and it would be worth it. So far I don't see any indication that I need to replace it.
