These Artisan mouse pads with powder coated glass are by far the best mouse pads I have ever used. If it gets damp from sweat, particles will detach from the surface of the pad over time and get into the air. I don't think I need to explain why this is a problem. After using these pads for a few years, I started noticing the long-term effects of inhaling glass particles. When I was a competitive gamer I figured I could handle it because these mouse pads are so ridiculously good. But I felt it was irresponsible not to say anything about it. Please be extremely careful when using this product. You probably won't realize it until you've worked for many years. Artisan also makes fabric spacers, I highly recommend these instead, they are very good but unfortunately not as good as the glass ones. However, ask yourself if it's worth risking your health for the extra performance of a mouse pad.
