I bought this unit based on a Wirecutter review and was very happy with it. I've already had their previous recommendation of the Light & Motion Urban 500, a great light that has worked well for me over the past year when I've been occasionally driving after dark. However, in 2020 I increased the distance I rode and when Daylight Saving Time ended I began to worry about being 10 miles from home in the dark because I forgot to charge my only flashlight. You know how they say that 2 equals 1 and 1 equals zero. So I got it as a backup and it quickly became my main light source. The mount is safer, and once I found a good position that lit the path ahead without blinding oncoming runners, it stayed there. Lighting options are better, from battery-saving flashes to ensure I'm seen at dusk to bright enough to be seen on the trail with no other lights. Keep in mind that the battery will drain fairly quickly at full power. . In my experience, it only takes 1.5-2 hours. The light is useful enough to flash as a battery warning long before it's really dead, and I found out pretty quickly that I really don't need the brightest setting, even on the shortest of December days. I can see the next level down well and I never run out of a ride. The only real downside I have with the light is that it uses a mini USB port for charging. USB c would of course be better, but micro-USB would also be fine. I still have many of these cables and devices that use them. If I ever lose the charging cable that came with it, I think it shares the cable with my printer.
