Not for noise reduction. I did it to make more noise. Currently running Stage 2 with 3" tailpipe on stock rear exhaust. The original exhaust got a bit louder with tune and screws but still sounded limited, like a sock stuck up its ass. I wanted it a little livelier but not super loud without investing in a full exhaust. Replacing the stock resonator with a live one helped. When you step on the gas, it responds with a growl. The throttle cuts it off. At idle, it's quiet. It's quiet when cruising around town. Full throttle sounds awesome, highway driving with a tach at 2.8k rpm and above is a definite rumble, it doesn't resonate with your chest hum, but turn on the radio a little more and speak up a hum a little The drone also took some getting used to.
