I have a Verizon FiOS quantum gateway in my basement (not ideal) with a 75mb/75mb internet connection and I only had one bandwidth of 4MB in the master bedroom, which is a big problem when streaming movies. I bought this extender and now I've increased my WiFi bandwidth by 20x. I opted for wired Ethernet for streaming and expanded my WiFi coverage as an added bonus. Contrary to some claims, you do not need cable television for this, but use the existing coaxial cable in the apartment. I recommend changing the SSID on the extender to match your existing SSID along with the password. You will need to log into your existing router to see what DHCP address has been assigned to the extender if you want to connect directly to the extender portal. I configured the extender to use a static IP so it doesn't change on every reboot. It's easier to just remember the static IP. The package contains everything you need: a MOCA splitter, an Ethernet cable and two coaxial cables. I am very satisfied with the product so far.
