Works very well! Please read these instructions for use.

I initially chose this doorbell because it has a special wired connector on the back that allows you to activate this doorbell in a variety of ways, in addition to the infrared motion sensor. I just sealed my eyes with tape as my usage was different. My project was to remove the speaker from my landline and use this pulse signal to start this device. I wanted to be able to use any sound clip file I wanted (humorous show clips, music, whatever). So now my phone has its own ringtone! Unstoppable fun. Mine is powered by a 12vdc wall transformer next to the phone. Now the tricky problem when trying to upload new sound files. All the instructions are in Chinese, so this is useless: HERE ARE THE INSTRUCTIONS: First, this USB connector is female in nature. So you might think that a "male-to-male" cable going between the PC and the device would suffice, but it is WRONG! The device was never intended for such work. Stupidly bought an M-2-M cable. What you need is a very cheap small USB stick. Keep in mind that the device only has 4MB of memory, so today's flash drive will be much larger. You only spend money to buy a bigger drive. The flash drive is only for storing sound clip files and nothing else! So find the oldest and dirtiest drive you can have. You must empty the drive of everything before writing sound clips to it. I assume you can run clips at around 320bps, but mine is 256bps and that's fine. MP3 format. NOW THE IMPORTANT PART: With your files on the flash drive (and it will matter with the last time changed to keep order) plug the drive into the port, then PRESS and HOLD the VOLUME + button for almost 20 seconds. You'll know it worked when the clip plays. The output sound level is good and I keep the device hidden in a closet. VOLUME - doesn't seem to decrease the volume, so I can recreate lower amplitude clips to get around this if needed. Much luck! Have fun with custom audio clips! Christopher
