I bought these twice to build my home gym during the COVID pandemic. As advertised, they're rated for up to 200 pounds each. I figured that meant the two together should be able to handle a 400-pound barbell. Not that I'm willing to do anything with 400 pounds. The first admittedly broke when I loaded the bolt rather sloppily, and it kind of "cracked". So between my careless loading/unloading of the rod and the possibility of sometimes having a defective product, . I gave it a second chance and bought another pair. Today the second hook broke. It broke when the 110-pound barbell was carefully rearranged. Maybe they're good for what I can tell, for their intended purpose, which is hanging things in the garage or something. I will not work for what I wanted.
