I needed to trim the uneven edges of a 1.2mm to 1.5mm fiberglass sheet and this tool worked very good. Considering I had to cut several hundred feet of edges, handheld metal shears would have been far slower and less accurate, not to mention the potential for carpal tunnel syndrome. First I pressed a long metal ruler against the fiberglass. sheet and used it as a cutting guide, but later discovered that you could simply draw a straight line on a sheet of fiberglass with a black marker and cut freehand with this tool with very good accuracy. To make cutting easier, don't forget to open the jaws of the scissors as wide as possible first. I'm sure I'll find this tool just as useful when working on sheet metal projects. My only regret is that this instrument was not made in the USA.
