Simply thread the quick release skewer through the hub and tool and tighten slightly, just enough to hold the tool in place and all you have to do is turn counterclockwise to remove . Now you need a tool to keep the cassette from spinning when you loosen the locking ring. Use a chain whip to hold the cogs or a hook wrench, either will work but you'll need one or the other to loosen the cassette from the wheel. Don't worry about the wrench, just use a big wrench if needed. The nut is 1" or you can use a 1" socket and wrench like I did. It's not very tight, so be careful when using this tool to reinstall the retaining ring. Torque easy! When tightening, "bumps” appear. Tighten approx. 4 strokes from the first contact. or use a torque wrench and follow the torque instructions. There is actually no centering fitting required, just hold on with the quick release nut! Easy cassette change!
