Perfect for 1999 Nissan Frontier XE V6 4x4 with 5 Speed Manual Transmission. After a few decades, the original tailgate support cables snapped and corroded to the point where they failed, allowing the tailgate to make contact with the bumper. They are very easy to install; I would suggest watching a short video on how to uninstall the old ones and install this one. The video I found shows the guy removing the top (the part that attaches to the side of the bed) with a screwdriver and trying to pry open the inside of the harness connector. I found this tedious and required a strong, thin screwdriver. What I did was just remove the screw that connects it to the bed. It doesn't have much torque and makes operation smoother. Would definitely recommend to anyone with an old fronty. They look like they're better made than the originals and a little cheaper than Nissan's OEM (if you can even find them these days).
