My red-bellied parrot loved tearing it apart. Don't think it's a permanent toy as it's meant to be chewed. Small birds like parrots don't seem to chew it that much, but bugs and larger ones love it. Buy extra. One of the first things they chew is the rope they're hanging from. They will often pick it up off the cage floor. Keep a few extra ropes handy to hang it back up and you're done.
