Nice but needs some modifications

I fitted this air intake to a 2005 CTS-V and overall am very pleased. I did the install myself and it only took about an hour and a half, and I'm by no means a gearhead. However, I had to make some modifications (additional bending/shaping) to the brackets that came with the unit, so it was a bit of a chore. In terms of performance - the air intake produces a different, more aggressive sound compared to the engine compartment. There is a noticeable difference when you press the accelerator hard, and you can also hear more intake noise when you start the engine at idle or with the clutch depressed. I also noticed a nice little bump in mean torque while driving. . Your car seems to have more "boom" at mid-rpm than stock, which is great. However, I haven't had the car on the dyno to get actual measurements and I haven't measured any change in fuel economy, so performance observations are just my perception compared to the stock system.

Pros
  • ENHANCED ENGINE SOUND: Hear the power under the hood.
Cons
  • Everything is great
