I have oriental rugs at home and a few pets. The vacuum cleaner did not pick up pet hair well. I read about these rubber brooms and did some research before finally settling on this one. Other reviews are correct, but I think people are confused by the term "broom". This doesn't mean you can just sweep it into a pile like a regular broom. You'll definitely need to put in some effort to collect animal skins. But sooooo much hair stands up (and it's addicting!) And this is no Swiffer, tufts of hair don't stick to the broom. You need to vacuum or collect piles. It works great for me and I am happy with my purchase.
