Based on all the reviews I have read including the manufacturer's claims, this product is considered safe on painted surfaces. I found out it wasn't. The directions on the box say to spray and rinse. It does not say how to dilute the solution, or specific instructions for using the product other than spraying and washing, and that it is safe for painted surfaces. the paint was dripping. I started splashing water but the damage was done. As you can see from the photos this is bare aluminum and this product removed the paint instantly without rubbing or rubbing. I didn't even let the product stop. The only way to fix this is to repaint the camper. I do not recommend using this product on painted aluminum but it has worked well in my shed.
