Good Repair Good Putty

Reinstall the retractable awning, remove the screws and snap the pivot bar off the RV wall. Removed all the old putty, applied new putty, used larger screws to reattach the hood.

  • Quality Construction
Cons

Great sealant around an old patio door

Great stuff. I used the edge of an old patio door where the silicone seal was worn off, especially in the corners. Don't remove the plastic backing so you can use it as single-sided tape. Place the segment on the tear and press the plastic backing to stick it (if you remove the plastic backing it will stick to your fingers and look dirty).

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Some insects

Absolutely fantastic butyl tape. quality product. Featured!

If you are a motorhome repairer you have already tried many BT brands. This is a quality product. Well packaged (in the box) so it will most likely arrive undamaged in transit. It has a high quality paper backing that doesn't tear easily and the tape itself seems to hold its shape better than the crap Dicor sells! This item is in my stock.

Excellent goods. Perfect to reseal my camper.

I recently had to gut and repair the front of my almost new motor home after finding some loose rusty screws and water damaged boards. It was just what I needed to reseal and trim the corners. It was exactly the color that is very comfortable to wear, well packaged and has held up perfectly for over three months. Excellent purchase. Exactly what I was looking for.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Big and Bulky

the best adhesive, sealant and lubricant available

Restoration of a 1974 Aljo Skyline caravan and I have tried many butyl rolls from different manufacturers. This stuff is by far the best, hands down. From here on out this will be the only butyl I will be using. It is pleasant to put on, sticky but not sticky, the substrate is removed without objection. It's just fun to work with a quality product. Some of the cheaper versions from CCP (China) were a nightmare lol!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Functionality

Does what a good butyl sealant should do

I've seen a lot of bad reviews about butyl sealant but I'm convinced it's because you don't know how to use this one crazy stuff and it doesn't work for you. The seller contacted me to help when I needed it. But I've worked with him before, but they have some good advice. I think something needs to be done about shipping when it gets hot. Some waxed shiny pockets. I do not know. But it worked great for me.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • I will add later

Easy to remove liner

This was the second roll of this particular tape as I ran out of the first. As for the putty itself, there is not much difference between them. This particular brand of tape is much easier to use as the backing paper peels off easily. The first brand I bought (white tape) was a real pain in the neck because the backing was almost impossible to tear off.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons

Long history of waterproof sealing.

Butyl rubber has a long history as a waterproof seal, and it works. The prerequisite is that it is held by a flange or other device. It never hardens, but rather spreads when squeezed. It will sag under its own weight as the piece lingers. So for boat fittings, screw heads, hatches etc. It's perfect. Unlike polyurethane and silicone sealants, it does not "harden" but remains flexible and removable.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • A few little things

Not suitable for uneven windows or non-ideal surface.

This stuff is sticky enough to be a nuisance and not pliable enough to be effective - worst of both worlds. If you are replacing window glass and it is a new house where everything is brand new then this would be a good material for glass but if your house is a bit older and the surface may not be perfectly flat then this material is not suitable. not malleable enough to make a clean print -- - it's hard to explain, but buy it and you'll see what I mean.

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Lots of Stuff
