defect. Returned. I have been using the Battery Minder smart charger for several years now. This brand seemed to have similar performance at a lower price and I needed an extra battery to keep my tractor battery charged this winter. Although the indicator shows charging, it didn't work. Tested on two other batteries after realizing they never went into service mode. I measured the battery voltage, connected the charger, after 6 hours the voltage did not increase. Checked and verified with my Battery Minder and confirmed that the Autometer 1500 BEX is not charging.
