Our 16 pound Morkie didn't really like it but one day she didn't seem to mind. It's sturdy and the extra straps on the front ensure the weight is evenly distributed enough for my daughter to easily carry Daisy with her. It says it's suitable for air travel, but I'll definitely check with a specific airline before attempting to use it. Anytime I travel, pet carriers need to be fully enclosed - everything for the head to stick out is adjustable with a cord, but I don't think that would be acceptable for airlines. I haven't traveled lately but if you are buying for this reason I would definitely double check first.
