I have several KONOLL knives. Everyone was outstanding and this one is no exception. The 8 inch bread knife is made of German steel. The knife is heavy for a bread knife, but very well balanced. It's really well built. The handle is comfortable to hold and the serrated blade is very sharp. The wooden handles are firmly attached to the shaft, but the rivet protrudes slightly. Not enough to make a difference. Forged steel is extremely attractive and easy to clean. Did I mention it's super spicy. Effortlessly slices hard crusted or white bread with minimal damage to the bread. The knife comes with instructions and is packaged in a very nice box that will make a great gift. But this one stays in place. This is definitely the best bread knife I have ever owned.
