You get what you pay for

I bought an Old Hickory 7-7 inch butcher knife. Upon opening the packaging I noticed that it was factory cut. Let's just say QC put the work off. The grinding of the actual edge was so blunt that I could run it down my arm without damaging the skin. I don't know if the company's policy is to "roughly" sharpen knives and let the customer do the rest, but I wasn't impressed. I don't know if anyone had the same problem or if mine was just a coincidence. But I will be more careful with my purchases from this brand. As for the possibility of a gift, I would be embarrassed to give it. Again, I don't know if it was just an accident or not, just from my experience with my knife. If you are not pulling on the micrometer or caliper, the tip is approximately 3/32 inch or (2.38 mm) thick. Its width (from the cutting edge to the spine) is 1 5/32 inches (about 1–1/8 inches) or (2.9 cm) at its narrowest point and 1–7/16 inches or (3 .7cm). )
