Review on 12-Pack DMC 117-729 Medium Old Gold Embroidery Cotton: 6-Strand Thread, 8.7 Yards per Skein by Kristen Simpson

The color is exactly as in the photo; dark gold. It's not quite golden gold, but a shade or two darker. Perfect when you want a more subtle, muted gold. Not great if you want bright and vibrant. Pros: The floss is of good quality and looks the same as the DMC floss I ordered directly from DMC (in different colors). Bad: The color rubs off heavily on the fabric. I realized I miscounted the cross stitch and I had a row of stitches one square up. Where there were stitches there was a distinct golden line which I assumed was normal. I tried removing the yellow with a toothbrush and laundry detergent but it only turned the entire underside of my fabric yellow. I then bleached the area and there was no change. I then used Tide Stain Remover and the massive yellow stain remained. Now I'm going to try to color the fabric back to white hoping I don't lose my whole project.
