Review on BUMAT ABS 3D Printer Filament by Keith Harris

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very durable and usable when printed correctly

As expected More difficult to print than ABS+ and the like because the adhesion to the layer (pure PEI) is not strong enough at temperatures below 105-110 degrees. Success with bed at 105 and nozzle at 255. Photos show recent printing, usually difficult with ABS (high angles, moving bed, no body, 25C ambient). Artifacts due to a lack of pressure supply and a wobbly Z-axis, not filament-specific. Really good strength and adhesion of the layers at the moment. Unlike some other ABS/ABS+, it automatically separates from PEI on cooling, requires no peeling (ABS+ is notorious for sticking too well and requires tools for thin objects, even on flexible sheets), but also requires a much higher temperature for good adhesion of the layer / reduction of denting). Compared to other more neutral colors, gray has a distinct blue cast.

Pros
  • Inexpensive
Cons
  • Big and bulky
