Review on 🧲 Neodymium Double-Sided Adhesive from FINDMAG: Advanced Scientific Material Handling Solutions by Rob Madden

"strong " and "weak " are relative terms

I brought a nice carbon steel sushi knife from Japan. I wanted to frame it and hang it on the wall but also didn't want to damage it so it could be used. I bought a shadow box and glued a thin sheet of black metal to the back of the box (facing the wall). Then I attached some magnets to the knife blade and centered it in the frame. The magnetic field penetrated the back of the shadow box and attached the knife to a metal plate that I glued to the back. Most reviewers describe these magnets as "strong" and "weak," but those are subjective terms. These magnets are made of neodymium, which has a much stronger magnetic field than magnets made of other materials. Specifically, these magnets are classified as N45 magnets. Basically, the higher the number, the stronger the magnet. For example, the N52 magnet has a stronger magnetic field; Magnet N42 has a weaker field. The manufacturer describes its magnets as "less brittle" than the N52 competition, and that's true. However, the manufacturer does not mention that its magnets are weaker than those of the N52 competition. Nevertheless, the magnets correspond to the declared properties and fulfill their function. They were well packed.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
