BUYER WARNING: POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD Upon opening the item it was immediately apparent that this (like all filament dryers) was overpriced for what you were getting. This item is fragile, make no mistake, and if you open the lid too quickly it will break. After testing the device, I left it in without filament for several hours. The device never reached 44ºC after a few hours of inactivity when I set the temperature to 50ºC and therefore this does not dry the thread since it never gets close to the temperature to dry with 1 roller installed without already saying 2 spools of thread. I've tried and succeeded in replicating the problem, it doesn't heat up to temperature. Only half of the heating element seems to work with my device and this has been tested with a variety of devices including an IR temp probe, a direct contact temp probe and a K-type thermocouple probe on a multimeter. I have contacted Sovol through the contact section of their website and also emailed them directly over two weeks ago and have received NO RESPONSE. Finally, after carefully examining my device, I noticed an off-white paper tape inside and under the filament shelf. Because of this I removed four screws from the shelf and exposed the heating element and wiring. It turned out that very thin masking tape was used to attach the wires from the various components to the plastic shell. This masking tape was also very close to the heating element, making it flammable and dangerous to use. I will report this to Revane and make another attempt to contact Savol. TO UPDATE:. Sovol reached out to me for advice and is willing to work with me on this issue. I will continue to update my review once the Sovol process is complete.
