Review on Uniden TCX905 Accessory Handset Charger by Tricia Rae

This phone has a different design. I found the original feature layout better than this "update". There are some improvements and I found the distance to be a bit longer with 905. This is a big plus as the only area my phone is used was the 8866 dial limit. My biggest complaint, which you won't find by reading this, is that the manual doesn't properly describe how to activate the handset and you have to call to learn a simple trick to use it. Others in these reviews have shared the same problem BUT THEY NEVER TELL THEM HOW TO SOLVE IT! So the handset will not fit in the 8866 base. Slide off the battery cover and place it in the base without it. Then follow the instructions for normal activation. One more thing, I also had a set that changed the volume on its own and I returned it for exchange. The new one seems ok. Perhaps they corrected this error. I still consider this Uniden series to be the BEST handheld phone and we use it in our shop going about 8 hours a day without a power outage which is well over a few years of use. New batteries can be bought on eBay for a few dollars but I haven't changed them in about 4 years.
