Good on new wood, not so good on old
I've tested the tread tapes to see how well they stick. I chose this product based on the reviews. It was hot outside, so being too cold wasn't a problem. We had to replace most of the steps with new CCA wood. The tape sticks to it well. The top step was about 5 years old. Although clean, it has not been sanded down. I thought cleanliness would do. The tape goes over the edges of the old piece of wood. I'm not sure even grinding the old stage would be enough to increase adhesion. As now, the first winter snow shovel will pull up the ribbon.
