Item exactly as described and easy to assemble. The only negative thing I can think of after installing the Step for the past few months is that the square metal tube that goes into the receiver is starting to rust. I wasn't expecting this as it appears to be either varnished or painted. I can imagine it getting worse over time - my truck is in great condition and it frustrates me every time I see rust on the steps. I'll have to take it off the truck, sand it down and rust it black I guess. Updated: 02/02/2013. Still holds up well on my jeep. Wiring and chrome are intact, but rubber and plastic are beginning to fade due to UV exposure (Jeep sits at station all day). I use Back to Black to bring black back and everything is fine again. Also, the plastic lenses over LED lights often oxidize. I use Scratch X 2 on a rag and buff it like new. I love this item. Update: 09/01/2014. Still on my truck. The plastic plugs on the coupling (covering the metal pipes) broke and fell off in many places. We assume that this is due to exposure to UV radiation. The clear lens covering the LED is now starting to cloud from the inside and I can't remove it with Scratch-X. The wiring is still like new and all the LEDs light up as they should. You can still see clearly at night. I haven't been hit from behind so I don't really know how it will hold up to a shock but it will likely be removed soon and replaced with a folding kickstand.
