Review on ACDelco 530 393 Professional Premium Absorber by Jimmy Franklin

Revainrating 2 out of 5

weak and bouncy for shocks

First installed: October 2012. Exact replacement for our Buick Rendezvous. Works well. The ride after the exchange is great. Pretty easy to work with this car with basic tools. Update June 2015: We've only driven about 25-30,000 miles since the shocks were installed. On snowy roads, they caused a sharp ride from behind. I decided to replace them with KYB Gas-A-Just KG5045. ACDelco are twin tubes, KYB are mono tubes which is superior. At the moment I cannot recommend ACDelco more highly. They are only $5 cheaper per shock compared to KYBs, wear poorly and have poor body control. They may be suitable for those who live where all roads are in good condition and whose driving style is not aggressive, but again, for a general upgrade to 5x2, this does not make sense. I will say that KYBs sit MUCH tighter than ACDelcos on the top shock, so get ready for a longer setup.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Hard to tell
