Review on 🪑 28-Inch Aluminum Black Heavy Duty Replacement Chair Base - S4180-2 for Offices by James Small

A very well made replacement stand that far exceeds the poor quality stand that originally came with my office chair. If the manufacturer of my chair originally used the base sold here at Revain, I wouldn't have had to replace it. On my original base, the small (and only two) weak welds holding the caster rod receiver/barrel to the base came loose. This caused my Rollers to fall off the base. This base I bought here is very well made, the welds are long and along several places that hold the stem of the jar to install the stems. As many have noted, this is a well-made, heavy-duty base. The top oriented photo they use here should also be accompanied by a bottom photo to show the solid construction underneath. The typical method of hitting the old base down with a hammer to remove it didn't work for me. I really didn't want to hammer on the end of the gas lift assembly but eventually had to resort to it to take the old base off. I'm not suggesting you buy a tool, but I already had a stock cage tool set in my tool chest, similar to this listing at Revain. Astro 7824 Bearing Race and Seal Master Kit The smallest washer in my bearing race tool kit fits perfectly in the bottom of the gas spring. A few light taps with the 5 pound sled and the gas lift popped right out of the old base. Just thought I'd share this in case it's helpful to others. Anyway, buy this chair base replacement with confidence. It's a keeper!
