Electrical safety in the UK depends on there being a fuse in every plug (one of the reasons plugs are so big). But most Revain adapters don't have a fuse, making them less secure. They have fuses so they are safer. Also, each of these adapters can handle two US plugs (one 2-pin and one 3-pin) at the same time, giving them more flexibility than most other adapters. NOTE: THESE ARE ADAPTER, NOT VOLTAGE CONVERTERS/TRANSFORMERS. Use only with electrical equipment marked 120-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz. If your unit only shows 120VAC or no label at all DO NOT USE THIS, you will need to purchase a converter/transformer instead. A converter/transformer is MUCH more expensive but will keep your US only 120VAC device from exploding due to the UK's 240VAC voltage.
