This brand of battery adapter converters should not be missing in any emergency kit. If you have a D-cell powered device and cannot find any D-cell batteries or your D-cell batteries are dead, this converter can power most D-cell powered devices if you use AA- Locating Batteries The bottom of the adapter, where AA batteries are inserted, is the adapter's weakest point. Within a few years of using one of them, the hatch broke. Scotch to the rescue! I just fixed it with tape and it works fine. Note: For some reason not every D-Cell powered item I've tested will work with it.
