do you have children? Children's toys run on C and D batteries, that's money in the bank you save. And you no longer have to store a bunch of batteries of all sizes. Good product, great invention. Tested new D Duracell batteries with AA Duracell in these adapters. I can't tell the difference in the flashlight, it works the same. Not sure about the lifespan, but it seems to emit the same amount of light.

Does the job. Requires 2 AA, not 1, per D cell. And I doubt it will last long, see the plastic latch at the top of the photo with the red batteries inside. This photo was taken after opening the lid only 2 times. My plan is to replace the D cells in the Dorsey motion sensor with some AA cells that I could recharge. But it looks like the plastic latch doesn't open/close much. Just take a look.

The latch holding the AA battery compartment looks like it's about to snap if you open it, but that's ok. Once you get past this, it's a great addition to emergency preparedness, reducing your need to have D cells on hand when you've otherwise standardized on AA. The seller asked if I liked the product which was nice. Its entire functionality, however, depends on a tiny plastic tab that sits next to the milk jug, which won't open by hand when closed, and even using a jeweler's screwdriver the hinges seem to snap.
